Uniontown Hospital
Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, Pennsylvania recently found itself plagued with a grease and oil problem. The City of Uniontown had passed an ordinance requiring all institutions that have food preparation facilities remove their effluent grease at the source. This meant that those businesses affected had to install some sort of system to remove the grease and oils flowing from their kitchens before it reached the sewers.
Unfortunately for Uniontown Hospital, their effluent grease far exceeded the limit set by the sewage treatment authority. Their grease output had been a major problem for those on the same sewer line. Symptoms down-stream included clogging of the sewer lines and frequent back-ups of raw sewage into basements.

Fortunately for Uniontown Hospital, Big Dipper® provided the simplest cure. Upon investigating Big Dipper® products and equipment with guidance from Russ Mechling of Fayette Engineering Company, Inc., plans were made to install a W-750-AST Ultra into their kitchen. An improvement was noticed within hours of installation.
No longer do employees from businesses down the sewer line from Uniontown Hospital return to work in the morning and find an unpleasant surprise waiting for them in the basement. No longer does the sewage treatment authority complain to them about their effluent grease flowing into the sewers. And no longer does Uniontown Hospital suffer from an effluent grease problem. In this case, the proper medicine proved to be a Big Dipper® W-750-AST Ultra.
